Categories :Uncategorized

A 64-year old Aussie woman, who lost her battle to mesothelioma 8 months ago, has won the equivalent of nearly half a million U.S. dollars from an asbestos exposure claim.

The Asbestos Diseases Foundation of Australia announced on Monday, that Sydney resident, Margaret Dawson, was awarded 550,000 Australian dollars or roughly 0,000 USD, in her suit against a building material giant. The suit claimed that Dawson had developed mesothelioma through her exposure to asbestos that was on the clothing of her father and husband when she would wash their clothes after they had returned from working for James Hardie Industries, who was at one time Australia’s largest producer of asbestos.

The decision came down from a New South Wales state tribunal.
